Politics: UK Government is Corrupt, Vultures, Bandits, Expenses, & Harpenden MP
Ever wondered why the capital gains tax was reduced from 40% down to 18% (or whatever it is now)?
Did anyone really think that reducing the tax on a second property that you own would benefit you and I? Well, it makes sense now does it not! Every MP seems to have their investment portfolio heavely stacked up in bricks and mortar… No wonder they decided it would be in everyone’s best interest to reduce the Capital Gains Tax on second homes…
The curruption in this Government goes far beyond anything I could imagine. These MPs, the Governement, and that pointless House of Commons is taking all they can from us making sure their pockets are full before they are forced out of power.
The police should be involved… Why are the police not doing anything? I don’t want to see these MPs resign out of the limelight and in to the shadows to get away with the corruption they have bestowed upon my country. These so called honorable people should be the ones looking after my country, not raping it with every penny they can scrounge out of us. They should be locked up!
What the hell have I been paying taxes for? Why should I pay 40% of my hard earned wage to line the pockets of the disgusting vultures who run my country. Does anyone care? Why is nothing happening? Why the hell are they still running my country?
Next time I’m in London I think I’ll pay a visit to one of those MPs homes. I’ll invite myself in to the home, do you know why? Because I own that home! I should be entitled to stay in those homes while I’m in London on business, why not? Since you and I paid for them, and paid for the renovations, and paid for the taxes, you even paid for the food in the fridge!
THIS COUNTRY IS BEING RUN BY A BUNCH OF BANDITS!
The Review writes:
Harpenden and Hitchin MP Peter Lilley has defended himself against claims his taxpayer-funded home in London is not necessary, insisting that unsocail working hours require him to remain within walking distance of Westminster.
Mr Lilley, whose main home is in Offley, Hitchin (approximately 40 miles away from Westminster), has claimed mortgage interest of around £12,500 a year on a second home in London in the last three years.
Political opponent Nigel Quinton, LibDem parliamentary candidate for Harpenden and Hitchin, said it was unnecessary for the MP to keep a home at taxpayers’ expense as he lived within close proximity of Westminster.
But Mr Lilley has insisted that it is necessary to charge the taxpayer mortgage interest rates on a second home due to unsocial working hours, together with time consuming travel to and from the House of Commons.
He said: “My London home is within walking distance of the House of Commons. Last week I had been in the house until 10.20pm on Monday and 11pm on Tuesday. I was there until 9.30pm on Wednesday.
“I could have gone back every night, but when I do I don’t see many of my constituents travelling back on a midnight train.”
Mr Lilley was also criticised for food claims amounting to £3,000 over two years, to which he responded: “I work for 60 hours a week on parliament business including meals. I’m lucky If I get home to eat with my wife one night a week.”
When asked to disclose the value of his London home, Mr Lilley told Review reporter Alexandra Barham: ‘I don’t see why that is any business of yours before firing the same question to her to which she replied: ‘my home is not funded by the taxpayer’.
Mr Lilley eventually revealed he had been loaned £265,000 in 2000 for his London pad, but refused to disclose a precise value instead telling the Review it cost more than double his mortgage.
Properties within Mr Lilley’s postcode had been selling at an average of £437,500 in 2006.

Peter lilley is my MP, hard working and an excellent one too.
On the odd accassion I have had need to contact him he has always seen the query through and replied personally.
I would not want to be represented by an MP short of sleep who travelled back and forth every day late at night He would probably not be in the best shape by midweek.
The claim for food is not unreasonable-Many Business people who travel and stay out would claim a lot more.
The cost of Hotel expenses would probably far exceed the amount claimed by Peter Lilley.
He pays the capitol on his mortgage so whats the problem?
Believe me,European MPs receive a lot more.
In case you are wondering,I am not a mate of Peter Lilley and have never met him.
It is an honest opinion arrived at through experience.
As a footnote:-
Do you realise that the amount borrowed by Gordon Brown and pumped into the Banks would pay MPs expenses for the next 4000 years!
I don’t mean to attack just Peter Lilley although in this article The Review has picked him out (he is also my local MP). I’m not attacking the Conservatives (I am / was Conservative) as all parties have taken us for a ride.
I’m frustrated at the entire system, at every so call Honourable MP from every party that takes my taxes, my hard earned money, and spends it and wastes it on themselves out of greed. They earn enough money as it is, plenty enough for their own living and any family.
The EU is another discussion, and also a waste of tax payers money. UKIP should shake things up a bit, even though it’s going to cost the tax payers a huge amount of money.
“Do you realise that the amount borrowed by Gordon Brown and pumped into the Banks would pay MPs expenses for the next 4000 years!” – Agreed, only a moron would do such a thing. Those banks have only themselves to blame, they are / were private companies with private investors and risk takers. Why should I have to folk up the cash to pay for something that I would not invest in. I wonder how many back handers have been made in our Government out of that…
