Event: Question Euro-candidates United Nations Association in Harpenden

Candidates and two MEPs will be speaking at a meeting in Harpenden tommorrow organised by the town’s branch of the United Nations Association.

Trevor Evans of the association, which promotes understanding of international issues, saiod: “We wanted to have the chance to question all the parties standing in the European elections , particularly about international issues.

“Two MEPs are coming – Richard Howitt for Labour, and Andrew Duff the Lib Dem, as well as Marc Scheimann, who is a Green candidate and lives in Harpenden.

“Unfortunately neither the United Kingdom Independance Party nor the Conservatives are able to send anyone, although we gave them plenty of notice, which is a bit disappointing.
